It is inevitable that a company will assume the traits of its founder. A.C.I. is no exception. Founder Brian Brookheart lives life with an attitude of gratitude. There are countless roofing contractors in the United States and when a facilities engineer or owner selects A.C.I. our response is gratitude. Our goal is to prove to the decision maker that the selection of A.C.I. was correct. At A.C.I. we view our clients as partners as we work together to install great roofs that are completed accident free, on time, on budget and of course, leak free. To illustrate this point, ninety percent of A.C.I. projects are repeat business from prior clients. Our clients return A.C.I.s gratitude by awarding ongoing projects, so the partnership continues. Secondly, A.C.I. is well aware that it takes more than gratitude and good feelings to make a successful roofing project. Each project is scrutinized using decades of commercial roofing experience. Our background includes over twenty years of intensive studies, continuing education, trade seminars and networking. If we dont know the answer to a question, rest assured that we know who does. Through the years we have dedicated ourselves to understanding the chemistry, physics and environmental dynamics that cause roofing systems to succeed. These ongoing observations have lead to a cautious approach in selecting roofing systems. For example, in the 1980s A.C.I. installed Hypalon membranes for large food producing companies. One prominent roofing manufacturer dominated the Hypalon market. However, that company compromised the quality of the membrane and concentrated on marketing. A.C.I. selected a smaller manufacturer with different priorities. This manufacturer made a quality sheet with the highest percentage of Hypalon in their sheet on the market. Eighteen years later, our conservative approach has proven correct. While the large manufacturer has suffered countless lawsuits because of failure of their membrane, our Hypalon roofs are still performing eighteen years after installation. The same situation occurred when TPO membranes were introduced in 1991. A.C.I. waited 12 years before installing TPO. The product that was finally selected had over 500 million square feet of successful installations in all climatic conditions, and it was developed by one of the roofing industry’s most conservative and successful manufacturers. We had no desire to use our clients as test cases for a roofing manufacturers research. With this cautious approach, A.C.I. and our clients avoided the TPO problems of the 1990s.This thoughtful approach is taken with each roofing system that A.C.I. installs. Therefore, we install only the finest roofing systems using skilled craftsmen. As a project is installed, each production step is checked repeatedly by A.C.I. Quality Control Personnel. Before we leave a project, a final painstaking inspection is performed. The result of this attention to detail is millions of square feet of leak-free installations. Most A.C.I. clients utilize our expertise in evaluating roof conditions and writing specifications. A.C.I. writes a great majority of the specifications that we install. A review of A.C.I.s outstanding success record indicates the exceptional level of overall roofing competence. In fact, many Fortune 500 companies have employed A.C.I.s skills in writing roofing specifications for their important roofing applications. Our knowledge is a unique combination of formal education and years of practical hands on experience. Few C.E.O.s have spent the day walking a 3” bar joist 50 feet high during deck replacement or a day mopping steep on a dangerous slope. This experience is invaluable when production crews are presented with challenges on a project. When challenges are encountered, A.C.I. crews know that the C.E.O. speaks the language and that the information provided is based upon practical application and not mere theory.
